Refugee, Humanitarian & Compassionate Permits
Canada’s Refugee and Humanitarian Resettlement program offers protection and assistance for referrals from the United Nations Refugee Agency and those applying for private sponsorship.
Humanitarian and Compassionate (H&C) grounds may be granted to an applicant. Many factors will be considered, such as:
- if the applicant(s) have family ties and children,
- if the applicant(s) have already settled in Canada and if they
- will the applicant experience hardship if forced to leave Canada and return to their home country.
